Riding for the Disabled Rockhampton

Rockhampton Riding for the Disabled is a not for profit organisation which aims to further assist disabled individuals with their therapy as well as allowing them to feel apart of something and most of all have fun!

They start lessons with a trail ride around the complex before moving into a rectangle arena where they cleverly disguise skill building with fun and involving games. These vary from activities which help develop hand/eye co-ordination, such as ball games and steering activities, as well as activities aimed to develop a rider’s independence and everything in between.

The Rockhampton Men’s Shed Inc

The Rockhampton Men’s Shed Inc. Two Feet and a Heartbeat Charity Walk

HeartKids Two Feet & A Heartbeat is a 4km walk, in honour of the four lives lost to congenital heart disease every week in Australia. Those keen to take on a greater challenge can choose to do the course twice, and tackle 8km in recognition of the eight babies born with congenital heart disease every day.

The walk commences with a period of silence in memory of our Heart Angels. Families have the opportunity to come forward and place flowers during this emotional time for reflection.

A true sense of community surrounds the day as families enjoy picnics, face painting, jumping castles and other fun, family friendly food and entertainment following the walk.

Walks take place in major capital cities and local communities across the country. In 2019 we aim to have 4,200 participants across all events!
